Full Throttle Classics is a new company founded by Russell Bell. Russell has undertaken restoration, race preparation and servicing work on classic cars since the young age of 15. Russell had worked for some of Britain’s most prestigious, established and well regarded classic car companies before deciding to start his own venture by creating Full Throttle Classics.
The location of Full Throttle Classics was very important; as Russell wanted his customers to be able to visit the work shop with ease. With this in mind Russell chose Thorp Arch in Wetherby due to its accessibility and it’s fascinating history. The Thorp Arch Estate was originally agricultural land upon which Royal Ordnance Factory Thorp Arch was constructed during the Second World War. The factory took 30 months to construct and was completed in 1942 at a cost of £5.9m. The factory was opened by King George VI.
